This is my first novel of this Author to read and i found The Bankster ,which undoubtedly is a gripping and riveting financial thriller.
“When it comes to life or death, it’s surprising how fear gets the better of everyone” says Ravi Subramaniam in his riveting new book TheBankster. Such a line in the book is sure to make you realize the simple fact of life, thus giving a practical impetus to fiction.
At the core of the story is the bank GB2(Greater Boston Global Bank),The story starts with a blood-money diamond trade, moves to The Trikakulam Nuclear Power Plant issue, and only then goes into its core phase. The entire story thereafter revolves around the systematic breakdown of all systemic controls within the bank, and exactly how these breakdowns transpired. The front-end and the back-end stories are skilfully intertwined with the main thrust of the story till their logical meeting point.
The most enjoyable aspect I enjoyed about this story was Ravi Subramanian’s ability to show and not tell. It is a hard thing to do, especially in a textual medium. The story follows a linear timeline with action spread across couple of locations. The language is succinct and simple and there are bits where Ravi Subramanian uses his character’s motivations to explain things to the lowest common denominator, especially in the bits where he unravels the twisted knots and kinks in the end.
I really rate this Book 10/10 because this kind of book first time i am reading by an Indian Author.Thanks Sir for this wonderful Book
